2. Use
Ferrous(II) Sulfate Heptahydrate (FeSO4·7H2O) is used in wastewater treatment for many different purposes. However, it is mainly used as a flocculation chemical and substance used in redox reaction and chemical removal of phosphas
- Fenton reaction
Fe2+ + H2O2 > Fe3+ + OH- + OH.
Fe3+ + H2O2 -> Fe2+ + H+ + HOO.
2H2O2 > H2O + OH. + HOO
- Cr6 + oxidation reaction
2CrO3 + 6FeSO4 + 6H2SO4 = 3Fe2(SO4)3 + 6H2O + Cr2(SO4)3.
- Reaction to remove phosphas
Note use
Before use, pilot scale should be tested
